  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 3/4 cup orange soda
  • 3/4 cup sparkling water
  • 1/2 cup clamato
  • 2 pounds medium cooked shrimp thawed
  • 1 roma tomato finely chopped
  • 1/2 medium onion peeled and finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup minced fresh cilantro
  • Salt
  • 1/4 cup lime juice from 2 limes
  • optional for serving: avocado, tortilla chips or saltine crackers, and hot sauce
  • optional for garnish: orange wedge, lime wedge, or cucumber slice


Instructions

  1. In a large pitcher, combine the ketchup, orange soda, sparkling water, and clamato. Mix until smooth and chill until ready to serve.
  2. Prepare 4 serving glasses or bowls. Distribute the shrimp evenly among the glasses, arranging some along the sides if desired.
  3. To each glass, add the chopped tomato, onion, and cilantro.
  4. Sprinkle ΒΌ teaspoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of lime juice into each serving. Avoid stirring the lime juice and salt into the pitcher to maintain the flavors.
  5. Pour the ketchup mixture over the shrimp and vegetables. Optionally, top with avocado. Serve immediately with hot sauce and tortilla chips or saltine crackers.

Notes

Using fresh lime juice enhances the flavor.
Ensure shrimp is fully thawed before serving for the best texture.
Feel free to adjust the spice level with more hot sauce.
