Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 1/4 cup rice krispie cereal
  • 1 (11 oz) bag caramel bits
  • 2 tbsp heavy whipping cream


Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8 or 9×9 baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and vegetable oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
  3. Once melted, mix in the rice krispies, then pour half of the mixture into the lined baking pan.
  4. Spread into an even layer and chill in the fridge for 10-15 minutes to harden the chocolate.
  5. In another microwave-safe bowl, combine the caramel bits and heavy whipping cream. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until melted and smooth.
  6. Pour the melted caramel on top of the chilled chocolate and spread into an even layer.
  7. Place dollops of the remaining chocolate and rice krispie mixture over the caramel layer, then carefully spread to cover it.
  8. Return the pan to the refrigerator until completely hardened, about 1 hour. Cut into squares and enjoy chilled or at room temperature!

Notes

For a thicker layer, use a smaller baking pan.
Ensure the chocolate and caramel layers are well chilled before adding the next layer for best results.
